DMCA / Copyright Policy

How copyright ownership works on ListenMode, and how to request removal of material you believe infringes your rights.

Last updated: August 8, 2026

ListenMode respects intellectual property. This page explains how podcast ownership works on our platform and how copyright holders can submit a removal request.

2. Original publishers

  • The original publisher is usually the person or organization that first releases the podcast feed or hosts the audio files.
  • ListenMode may display public metadata about a publisher’s show so listeners can discover it.

3. RSS feeds and Podcast Index

  • Many podcasts are found through public RSS feeds and directories such as Podcast Index.
  • These sources help ListenMode learn that a show exists and where episode media URLs point.
  • Directory listing and metadata indexing are not the same as ListenMode claiming ownership of the show.

4. Metadata

  • ListenMode may store titles, descriptions, artwork URLs, episode lists, and similar public metadata to power search and podcast pages.
  • Metadata helps discovery. It does not replace the publisher’s copyright in the underlying audio.

5. Streaming

  • For catalog and RSS-based shows, ListenMode typically streams audio from the publisher’s media URL.
  • Temporary caching or proxying may happen when needed for playback reliability or technical compatibility.
  • Episodes uploaded by creators in Studio are hosted as part of publishing on ListenMode and remain subject to our publishing and removal policies.

6. Content ownership summary

  • Creators retain ownership of content they publish.
  • ListenMode receives a limited license to operate, display, and stream content as described in our Terms and Podcast Publishing Policy.
  • Third-party shows discovered via public feeds remain owned by their rights holders.

7. Removal requests

  • If you believe material on ListenMode infringes your copyright, you may submit a removal request.
  • We review complete, good-faith notices and may remove or restrict access to the disputed material.
  • Incomplete or unverifiable notices may be delayed or declined until we receive enough information.

8. Required information

  • Your full name and contact information
  • Your relationship to the copyrighted work (owner or authorized agent)
  • The podcast or episode URL on ListenMode
  • A clear description of the copyrighted work and the disputed material
  • Evidence of ownership or authorization where available
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate
  • Your signature (physical or electronic) or another reasonable identity confirmation

9. How to submit

  • Email legal and removal requests to abuse@listenmode.ir
  • General support: support@listenmode.ir
  • Contact form: https://listenmode.ir/contacts
  • You may also review the Podcast Publishing Authorization and Content Removal Policy for creator-facing procedures.

10. Response expectations

  • We aim to acknowledge complete notices within a reasonable time, typically within a few business days.
  • Complex ownership disputes may take longer while we request clarification or contact the listed publisher.
  • We may temporarily restrict access while a notice is under review.

11. Counter notices

  • If your content was removed and you believe the removal was mistaken, you may send a counter notice.
  • Include your contact details, the affected URL, why the material should be restored, and evidence of your rights or authorization.
  • Submitting a counter notice does not guarantee restoration.

12. Repeat infringement

  • ListenMode may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly publish unauthorized content or receive valid copyright complaints.
  • We consider the nature, frequency, and severity of each case.

13. How creators contact ListenMode

  • Creators who publish through Studio should use support channels for account and publishing help.
  • Ownership disputes, unauthorized claims, and copyright notices should use the legal email above.
  • Creators must accept the Podcast Publishing Policy before creating a podcast.
